Quick Reference to Configuring Specific Features
Use this quick reference to help you adjust the driver configuration settings for your particular requirements. The features are only available if supported by the type of driver, channel, set, outstation, or point.
What do you want to do?
- Check that a PSTN outstation can still dial in to the server—Enable the Callback feature on the PSTN tab of the Outstation Form (see Define an Outstation’s PSTN Properties), then use the Callback pick action.
- Report alarms on a PSTN outstation to another ClearSCADA database—Enable a Remote dial in line on the PSTN tab of the Outstation Form (see Define Dial In Line Properties on a PSTN Outstation).
- Retrieve data from an individual PSTN outstation at a more frequent rate—Enable the Promote Dial Out feature on the Outstation Form (see Define an Outstation’s PSTN Properties), and use the Promote Dial Out pick action.
- Retrieve data from PSTN outstations in an outstation set at a more frequent rate—Enable the Promote Dial Out feature on the Outstation Set Form (see Defining Communication Settings), and use the Promote Dial Out pick action.
- Specify when point alarm states are updated in the ClearSCADA database—Select the appropriate option from the Alarms From field on the Point Form (see Processing Alarm Data for Point States).
- Use different PSTN connection types for some channels and outstations—A system administrator needs to set up the types using the ClearSCADA Server Configuration Tool (see PSTN Connection Types). Once set up, you can specify the required type in the Connection Type window on the appropriate Channel Form (see Defining PSTN Settings for a Channel) and Outstation Form (see Define an Outstation’s PSTN Properties).
