Use the fields at the top of the String tab on the Advanced Modbus String Point Form to Configure Common Point Properties. Fields that are specific to Advanced Modbus String points are explained below.
- Requested String's Length—Specify the maximum acceptable string length, in the range 1 to 247 characters inclusive.
- String Type—Use this combo box to specify the type of the string that ClearSCADA is to request from the controller.
- String Writeable—Select this check box to specify that ClearSCADA can write to the string point. Clear the check box to deny write access to the string point.
- Confirm Set Value—Use this combo box to specify whether a confirmation dialog box is displayed whenever an operator attempts to set the string’s value (see Requesting Confirmation of Action Requests in the ClearSCADA Guide to Core Configuration).
