Add a Redirection Action
Before you can redirect an item’s alarms, you need to add and configure an appropriate redirection action (see Choose a Type of Alarm Redirection).
Consider whether you want to create a separate Group for storing the redirection actions that your system requires, so that you can quickly locate them should you need to change or configure further redirection actions at any time (see Add a Group in the ClearSCADA Guide to Core Configuration).
To add a redirection action:
- Right-click on the System or Group to which you want to add the E-mail Action (this might be a redirection actions group).
A context sensitive menu is displayed. - Select the Create New option.
A further menu is displayed. - Select the Alarm Redirection option.
A further menu is displayed. - Select the appropriate option (for instance, Change Priority Action).
A new redirection action of that type is added to the system. It is selected automatically, ready for you to enter its name.NOTE: Three further options, Action Roster, Calendar, and User Roster, are also available, allowing you to redirect alarms on a roster or calendar basis. For further information, see Action Roster , see Alarm Redirection Calendar, and see Add a User Roster.
- Enter a suitable name for the action (see Naming Restrictions in the ClearSCADA Guide to Core Configuration).
- Select another part of the interface or press the ENTER key to confirm the entry.
When you have added a redirection action, you need to configure it using the Action Form (see Display the Action Form).
NOTE: If a user is to manually redirect an alarm, they need to have Read access to the redirection action, action roster, or alarm redirection calendar that is used to redirect the alarm (see Select the Action to be Taken).
