Specify whether ‘Simple’ Events are Shown in the Status Bar

You can use the Option window’s Alarms and Events tab to define whether messages for ‘simple’ events are shown in ViewX’s status bar. ‘Simple’ events are logged for state changes that do not relate to alarm conditions or user-initiated actions, such as controls.

By default, the Status Bar is set to have ‘simple’ events disabled, as this reduces the amount of network traffic on the system.

When choosing whether to show ‘simple’ events in the Status Bar, you need to consider:

To specify whether ‘simple’ events are shown in the Status Bar:

  1. Log on via a user account that has the Configure Options permission, and then display the Options window (see Display the Options Window in the ClearSCADA Guide to Client Administration).
  2. Select the Alarms and Events tab.
  3. Either:
    • Select the Include Simple Events in Status Bar check box to set the Status Bar to show messages for ‘simple’ events

    Or:

    • Clear the Include Simple Events in Status Bar to stop the Status Bar from displaying messages for ‘simple’ events.
  4. Select the OK button to confirm your selection.
