Specify whether Users can Sort the Columns on the Alarm Banner
You can use the Option window to define whether users can change the order for the Alarm Banner. For example, if you choose to Allow Sorting, users can set the Alarm Banner so that it displays alarms in chronological order or alphabetical order. Users could also sort the alarms according to the value in any of the headers and can also apply multiple sort orders if required.
To define whether users can change the order in which alarms are displayed in the Alarm Banner:
- Log on via a user account that has the Configure Options permission, and then display the Options window (see Display the Options Window in the ClearSCADA Guide to Client Administration).
- Select the Alarms and Events tab.
- Either:
- Select the Allow Sorting check box to allow users to change the order in which alarms are displayed in the Alarm Banner. Users can select a column heading to sort the alarms in chronological or alphabetical order by the values in that column. Selecting a column heading sorts the alarms in ascending order; re-selecting the column heading sorts the alarms in descending order.
Users can also sort the Alarm Banner by one or multiple columns. This is achieved in a similar way to sorting the Alarms List, see Sort the Entries in an Alarms List or the Alarm Banner.
The Default Sorting option, which is available from the context-sensitive menu for the Alarm Banner, allows users to reset the sorting order.
Or:
- Clear the check box to stop users from being able to sort the Alarm Banner (on this particular ViewX client).
To apply the Allow Sorting setting that you have chosen, select the Option window’s OK button. The settings will be applied to the ViewX client (on which you defined the changes).
