Prerequisite Components

ClearSCADA is designed to run on a computer that has certain other components installed. The components comprise a combination of the following:

• Visual C++ 2005 x86 Redistributables
• Visual C++ 2005 x64 Redistributables
• Visual C++ 2008 SP1 x86 Redistributables
• Visual C++ 2008 SP1 x64 Redistributables
• Visual C++ 2010 SP1 x86 Redistributables
• Visual C++ 2010 SP1 x64 Redistributables
• Net3.5 Runtime
  

  NOTE: For Windows Server 2012 and Windows 8. Net 3.5 must be installed manually before running setup.

• .NET 4.5.1 Full Runtime
• MSXML 4.0 SP2 Parser and SDK
• Safenet Sentinel Protection Drivers
• SAP Crystal Reports Runtime Engine for .NET Framework 4 (32 bit).
  (ClearSCADA supports SAP Crystal Reports 2008 and 2011)
• SAP Crystal Reports Runtime Engine for .NET Framework 4 (64 bit).
  (ClearSCADA supports SAP Crystal Reports 2008 and 2011).
• OPC Factory Server v3.50 (32 bit)

WARNING

DO NOT UNINSTALL PREREQUISITE COMPONENTS

Uninstalling the prerequisite components may result in ClearSCADA being unable to provide access to certain features, or being unable to run. It could also affect system security. For these reasons, do not uninstall the prerequisite components.

Failure to follow these instructions can result in death, serious injury, or equipment damage..

When you install ClearSCADA, the components that are essential for ClearSCADA to run on your operating system are installed automatically. A prompt is displayed for non-essential components, allowing you to choose the components that are relevant to your system.

We suggest that you only choose to install components that you need for your system. For example, you only need to install the:

• Visual C++ 2005 Redistributables if your system is using Crystal Reports 2008 or 2011
• SAP Crystal Reports Runtime Engine if your system is using Crystal Reports 2008 or 2011
• Safenet Sentinel Protection Drivers if your computers are using dongles (rather than files) for licensing.

• OPC Factory Server v3.40, which is the Schneider Electric OPC server used to connect OPC client to all Schneider Electric PLCs ( Modicon Quantum, Premium, M340, Micro, Nano, Momentum, etc.).

  When used with Unity PRO PLCs, it provides a native and direct symbolic access to any located or unallocated variable from the PLC.

  NOTE: ClearSCADA can only install OPC Server on a computer that does not have any version of OPC Server currently installed. If you need to install ClearSCADA on a computer that does have a version of OPC Server installed, you will need to uninstall OPC Server (using Windows) and then run the ClearSCADA installer again. If your system does not use Schneider Electric PLCs, you can choose to not install OPC Server at all.

  If you are installing the pre-requisites on a Windows 8 or Windows Server 2012 operating system, please exclude the OPC Factory Server as it may cause an installer error. OPC Factory Server is not currently compatible with Windows 8 or Windows Server 2012.

Installing components that are not needed on your system uses up disk space unnecessarily.
