Change the Port for the Server’s Incoming Data
By default, each ClearSCADA server uses Port 5481 to receive data from a client via the client - system connection. For many systems, this default setting is suitable. However, if Port 5481 on your server is unavailable, you will need to change the port setting so that ClearSCADA uses a different port for client to server communications.
To change the port used by the server to receive data from a client:
- Log on to the server and display the Server Configuration Tool (see Accessing the ClearSCADA Server Configuration Tool in the ClearSCADA Guide to Server Administration).
- Access the Global Parameters>Advanced settings
- In the Server field, enter the number of the port that is going to be used instead of Port 5481. You have to enter a valid and available port number.
- Define the other settings for the server port if required (see Connection and Update Settings in the ClearSCADA Guide to Server Administration).
- Right-click on the system icon to display a context sensitive menu, then select the Apply Changes option.
The new server port settings are put into effect.
ATTENTION: Remember that if you are using a firewall, you will need to reconfigure it so that it allows the newly defined server port to receive and send data via the client - system connection.
