Add an Element to an Array Field
There are many ways to add elements to an array field:
- Select the Add button.
- Press and hold a Ctrl key and then select the Add button. This creates a new element and suppresses the browse window, so that you can enter the value manually.
- Right-click on the array field to display a context-sensitive menu, and then select the Add option.
- Press and hold a Ctrl key and then right-click to display a context-sensitive menu. Choose the Add option. This creates a new element and suppresses the browse window, so that you can enter the value manually.
- Select the array field to make it active and then press the Insert key.
- Select the array field to make it active and then press a Ctrl key and the Insert key simultaneously. This creates a new element and suppresses the browse window, so that you can enter the value manually.
When you use the techniques listed above, either:
- A new element is added to the end of the elements list. It is selected automatically, ready for you to define its value.
Or:
- A browse window is displayed, which you can use to select the item you want to add. The item you select will be added to the end of the list of elements.
A browse window is only displayed if it is possible to browse for a valid value. For example, if you need to specify an Area of Interest, a browse window is available as you can browse the areas of interest that have been created.
NOTE: If your new element is to reference a database item or an Area of Interest, the value for the element has to be a valid name. (The value has to be an exact match of a name of an item in the database or an Area of Interest)
