Adjust the Sort Order of Entries in the Messages Window

By default, messages in the Messages window are sorted in chronological order, with the most recent message appearing at the top of the window.

You can sort the entries by any of the columns in the Messages window.

To sort the entries by a single column:

• Select the relevant column header.
  The entries are sorted by that column (in ascending order by default).

  To reverse the sort order, select the column header again.

To sort the entries by multiple columns:

1. Select the primary column by which the entries are to be sorted.
2. Hold down the ALT key while select the further column by which the entries are to be sorted.
3. If required, adjust the sort order of the selected column by clicking again on the column header.
   With each click, the sort order moves between the available sorting options ('ascending', 'descending', and 'not in sort').
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for any other columns by which you want to sort the entries.

The sort order is retained if you close and then redisplay the Messages window. However, the sort order reverts to the default when the ViewX client is restarted.
