Clear the Contents from One or More Cells

You can clear the content from one or more cells in a Data Grid so that the cells remain in the Grid but are devoid of content. To clear the content of more than one cell, either drag over a block of cells, fields, or rows, or see Keyboard Shortcuts for other ways of making multiple selections.

To clear the complete expression from one or more individual cells:

  1. For multiple cells, select the required cells (for a single cell, go straight to step 2).
  2. Right-click on the cell(s).
    A context sensitive menu is displayed.
  3. Select the Clear Contents option.
    The expressions are cleared from the selected cell(s).

To clear the complete expressions from whole fields or rows of cells:

  1. For multiple fields or rows, either:
    • Select the required field heading(s).
    • Select the required row number(s).

    (For a single field or row, go straight to step 2.)

  2. Right-click on one of the selected fields or rows.
    A context sensitive menu is displayed.
  3. Select the Clear Contents option.
    The expressions are cleared from the selected fields or rows (depending on your selection in step 1).

To clear the part of an expression from a single cell:

  1. Highlight the obsolete content.
  2. Select the Delete key.
    The selected content is deleted.
