Copying a Database Item
You can make a duplicate of an item or group of items. This can be useful for reducing the amount of configuration required—you can make copies of items that are similar, and then alter the configuration of the features that are unique. Copying duplicates the configuration of an item or group of items, it does not copy across any data associated with the item(s) that are being copied.

If your system uses Areas of Interest (see Restrict Alarm and Event Access to Specific Areas of Interest), you can use the above procedures to copy an Area of Interest. To do so, you would Display the Areas of Interest Bar, rather than the Database Bar.
NOTE: To produce like groups of items, consider using a Group Template, and then creating Group Instances of that Template. Whenever you make configuration changes to any items within the Template, the same changes are replicated in each of the Instances of those items (see Group Templates and Group Instances).
