Delete Cells from a Data Grid

You can delete one or more cells from a Data Grid and move the remaining cells further to the left or further up the Grid to fill the gap that is left by the deleted cells. To delete more than one cell, either drag over a block of obsolete cells, fields, or rows, or see Keyboard Shortcuts for other ways of making multiple selections.

ATTENTION: Be aware that moving remaining cells into fields of different types may affect the values of the expressions that those fields contain.

To delete one or more individual cells, either:

  1. For multiple cells, select the required cells (for a single cell, go straight to step 2).
  2. Right-click on the obsolete cell(s).
A context sensitive menu is displayed.
  3. Select the Delete option.
    The Delete window is displayed.

  4. Choose how the removal of the obsolete cells is to affect the rest of the cells in the row or column (either Shift cells left or Shift cells up).
  5. Select the OK button.
The selected cell is deleted. The remaining cells are adjusted as specified by the selected option button.

To delete whole fields or rows of cells:

  1. For multiple fields or rows, either:
    • Select the required field heading(s).
    • Select the required row number(s).

(For a single field or row, go straight to step 2.)

  2. Right-click on one of the selected fields or rows.
A context sensitive menu is displayed.
  3. Select the Delete option.
The selected fields or rows (depending on your selection in step 1) are deleted.
