Display the Messages Window

To provide access to the Messages window, a User Account needs to be assigned at least one of the following Configuration settings:

If not already on show, the Messages window displays automatically when certain activities result in messages appearing in that window. Such activities include performing a database Import, or selecting the Display Errors pick action. With other activities, such as Rename, or Delete, a notification indicator is displayed alongside the relevant entry in the Database Bar, but the Messages window is not displayed automatically. This is by design, so that the Messages window only displays on demand, or when an activity results in potentially unexpected configuration changes (such as invalid or conflicting configuration following a database import).

You can also display the Messages window as follows:

  1. Select the View tab on the ViewX ribbon.
  2. Select the Messages command in the Tools group.

The Messages window is displayed (providing your User Account is assigned at least one of the required Configuration settings).
