Use Copy and Paste to Copy a Profile’s Vectors
You can use the Copy and Paste feature to copy all of a Time Profile’s vectors for a particular day into Windows’ temporary storage ‘clipboard’. You can then paste a copy of those vectors onto another Time Profile, or use them to form the Profile for another day on the same Time Profile. (A Time Profile that has a Weekly span has a separate tab for each day of the week; a Time Profile that has a Daily span has a single tab.)
You can copy and paste vectors between different types of Time Profile (for example, between a Float Time Profile and a Long Time Profile). If the Profile to which you are pasting the vectors has ‘less precise’ values, the vectors’ values will be rounded down. If any of the copied vectors exceed the new Profile’s Range, ClearSCADA will substitute those vectors’ values with the Profile’s Maximum or Minimum value, as applicable, when the Profile is saved.
To copy a Profile’s vectors to the clipboard:
- Display the required Time Profile(s) in Design mode.
- If the Time Profile(s) have a Weekly span, select the required day of the week.
- Press the CTRL and C keys simultaneously.
The selected Profile’s vectors are copied to the clipboard.
To paste a Profile’s vectors from the clipboard:
- Select the required day of the week onto which you want to paste the vectors.
- Press the CTRL and V keys simultaneously.
The vectors are pasted into the Profile from the clipboard, replacing the existing vectors for the selected day of the week.
If a Time Profile’s configuration, as well as its vectors, is to form the basis for another Time Profile, use the Copy and Paste feature to make a copy of the whole Time Profile database item (see Use Copy and Paste to Copy a Database Item).
