Configure Override Settings
Use the fields within the Override section of the String Point tab to define whether the value of the point can be overridden.
The Override feature allows operators whose User Accounts are allocated the Override/Release permission to change (‘override’) the value of the point. An overridden point value replaces the value of the selected point in the ClearSCADA database. Typically, overrides are used when a known detected fault is resulting in an incorrect value being reported for a point.
Use the Enabled check box to define whether the point can be overridden.
Either:
- Select the check box to allow the point to be overridden.
- Use the Confirm combo box to define whether a confirmation dialog box is displayed whenever an operator requests that a point is overridden (see Requesting Confirmation of Action Requests in the ClearSCADA Guide to Core Configuration).
or:
- Clear the check box if operators are not to have the ability to override the point.
