The Crystal Reports Driver will not Run

This section explains the actions to undertake if the Crystal Reports driver shuts down whenever it is run.

The Crystal Reports driver uses the server’s specified printing user when printing or exporting reports using the Print Report or Export Report pick actions. The printing user is configured in the Printing section of the ClearSCADA Server Configuration Tool (see Printer Settings in the ClearSCADA Guide to Server Administration).

If a printing user has been specified, but that printing user has invalid configuration (such as the wrong password), the driver will shut down with a ‘Logon failure’ error whenever it is run.

The Crystal Reports driver will log a diagnostic message of this type:

8007052E - > Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password.
Failed to logon user <name>

(where <name> is the name of the printing user via which the Crystal Reports driver attempted to log on to Windows®.)

If the Crystal Reports driver shutdown occurs, check that the printing user has valid configuration and the necessary read/write access.

(For more information on driver logging, see Crystal Reports Specific Driver Log File Options.)
