Configuring Analog Points
The DDE driver supports Analog Input and Analog Output points.
The points are used to map ‘point’ data on DDE servers into ClearSCADA in a format that it can understand, and vice versa.
Configure the properties of each analog point using the fields on the DDE Analog Point Form.
This section covers configuration of analog-specific properties on the DDE tab of the Form.
Use the fields on the DDE tab to:
- Configure Common Properties on the DDE Tab
- Configure Scaling Properties (see Scale Analog Values for use in ClearSCADA in the ClearSCADA Guide to Simple Drivers)
- Configure Significant Change Properties (see Define the Criteria for a Significant Change in Value in the ClearSCADA Guide to Core Point Configuration)
- Use Persistence to Stop Fleeting Changes in Value from Changing the Point State
- Define the Historic Data Storage Properties.
For information on the fields on the Analog Point tab, see Defining Analog Point Details in the ClearSCADA Guide to Core Point Configuration.
If the point is an output point, you also need to enable and configure the properties on the Control tab—for information, see Define the Control Settings for an Analog Output Point in the ClearSCADA Guide to Core Point Configuration.
For information on the fields on other tabs, see Tabs on Point Forms in the ClearSCADA Guide to Simple Drivers.
