Configuring DNP3 Server Settings
Some driver-specific settings need configuring on the server by a system administrator when a system is first installed. These settings are configured using the ClearSCADA Server Configuration tool. For information on accessing the ClearSCADA Server Configuration tool, see Configuring Advanced Driver Server Settings in the ClearSCADA Guide to Advanced Drivers.
This section explains the properties on the DNP3 Master and DNP3 Slave sections of the tool.
On systems on which ClearSCADA is the DNP3 master, a system administrator should use the DNP3 Master section of the tool to:
- Define the Maximum Size of Data Packets.
- Define the Direct Communications Re-establishment Delay.
- Define the DNP3 Master File Transfer Parameters.
- Define any additional PSTN Connection Types (see PSTN Connection Types in the ClearSCADA Guide to Advanced Drivers).
- Define the DNP3 Master Secure Authentication settings (see Define the Security Settings).
- If the server is also operating as a DNP3 slave, configure the settings on the DNP3 Slave section of the tool (see below).
- Apply the changes to the server (see Configuring Advanced Driver Server Settings in the ClearSCADA Guide to Advanced Drivers).
- If the driver is currently running on the server, restart the driver for the changes to take effect (see Start and Stop a Driver in the ClearSCADA Guide to Server Administration).
ATTENTION: This driver supports extension drivers. Restarting this driver will also restart any associated extension driver(s) that are running on your system.
- Repeat the procedure for each server on the system. (You only need to perform the steps on any Permanent Standby servers if you make changes to any PSTN Connection Types.)
On systems on which ClearSCADA operates as a DNP3 slave, a system administrator should use the DNP3 Slave section of the tool to:
- Define the Maximum Size of Data Packets.
- Define the DNP3 Slave File Transfer Parameters.
- Define the DNP3 Slave Secure Authentication settings (see Define the Security Settings).
- If the server is also operating as a DNP3 master, configure the settings on the DNP3 Master section of the tool (see above).
- Repeat the procedure for the other servers on your system.
