Define the DNP3 Master File Transfer Parameters
The DNP3 protocol allows a variety of files to be transferred between the DNP3 master and DNP3 outstations. Use these fields in the DNP3 Master section of the tool to specify the parameters for such file transfers:
- File transfer request timeout—Use this field to specify the time that the server allows for file requests, such as those executed using the Download File pick action, to complete. The time specified in this field is added to the Request timeout extension time (specified in the Drivers section of the ClearSCADA Server Configuration tool) to determine whether a file transfer request is taking longer than expected to complete and should time out.
- The time specified for the File transfer parameter needs to be sufficiently long enough for the expected upload/download file sizes and the speed of the communications link(s). The default setting is 20 minutes.
- Specify the folder where the files will be uploaded to and downloaded from—Use this field to specify the folder that is used to store files for uploading to, or downloading from, this DNP3 master. The folder is only used for files being transferred from or to outstations that support the Legacy g70v1 File Transfer routine (see Specify Which File Transfer Routines an Outstation Supports).
- Use the Browse button adjacent to the field to display a Reference browse window, and choose the required file location. On multi-server systems, the relevant files are uploaded to or downloaded from this location on whichever ClearSCADA server is the main server at the time. For information on uploading and downloading DNP3 files, see Actions Associated with DNP3 Outstations.
