Use the Initialize pick action to reset the value of a Counter point.
The Initialize pick action is only available on Counter points on which:
- Initialization is enabled (see Configure the Initialization Properties of a DNP3 Counter Point)
- Your User Account is allocated the Control security permission.
The outstation’s counter Reset Method determines whether the value to which a Counter point is reset is user configurable. The counter Reset Method is specified on the DNP3 Outstation Form (see Configure the Counter Reset Method).
If the counter Reset Method is set to Initialize_DATA (g20v0), selecting the Initialize pick action will reset the Counter point’s value to the default that is specified at the outstation.
If the counter Reset Method is set to one of the WRITE options, selecting the Initialize pick action will display an Initialize window.
Use the window’s Value field to specify the value to which the point is to be initialized.
