NOTE: A DNP3 SCADAPack ES Remote I/O module is a SCADAPack E outstation that is used as an I/O expansion module for another DNP3 SCADAPack E outstation. Do not confuse this with the DNP3 SCADAPack Remote DNP3 Device, and DNP3 SCADAPack Remote E Outstation items that you can also configure in the ClearSCADA database. These latter items enable ClearSCADA to retrieve data from remote DNP3 outstations (see Configuring DNP3 SCADAPack E Outstations).
A SCADAPack E outstation can automatically allocate the I/O for a SCADAPack ES outstation that is used as an I/O expansion module. If the I/O is allocated automatically for such an expansion module (the default), you do not need to configure an expansion card or module in the ClearSCADA database. However, if the default automatic allocation of I/O is not suitable—for instance, if you want to specify different Point Numbers to those that would otherwise be assigned—you need to configure a DNP3 SCADAPack ES Remote IO item in the ClearSCADA database to represent the expansion I/O module.
Should you need to configure a DNP3 SCADAPack ES Remote IO item, use the fields on the SCADAPack ES Remote I/O tab of the DNP3 SCADAPack ES Remote IO Form to specify these module-specific properties:
- Outstation—Use to Specify the SCADAPack Outstation with Which the I/O is Associated.
- Module Address—Use the spin box to specify the address of the I/O module.
