There are two Device Type status attributes.
The first status attribute shows the device type number that was returned by the outstation, decoded into a text string.
Example:
Device Type SCADAPack ES Model A (IO:32/16/12/4) , Ethernet
The second status attribute shows the raw number that was returned by the outstation.
