Events and Data Classes

A SCADAPack E outstation can generate events for both physical input points and for derived points that have a static DNP3 object type (see Configure Common Properties of DNP3 SCADAPack Points).

Use the fields within the Event Configuration section on a DNP3 SCADAPack E outstation’s configuration Form to specify the format (DNP3 Object and Variation) in which a SCADAPack E outstation sends its event data to ClearSCADA (see Configure Event Configuration).

Use the Point Data Class field on each DNP3 SCADAPack Point Form to specify the DNP3 Data Class that is associated with that point (see Configure Common Properties of DNP3 SCADAPack Points).

Use the DNP3 Object Type field on each DNP3 SCADAPack Point Form to specify the DNP3 Object type that applies to that point (see Configure Common Properties of DNP3 SCADAPack Points). This defines the format in which the outstation sends the point’s value to ClearSCADA, whenever ClearSCADA issues an Integrity Poll.

For more information, see DNP3 Integrity and Data Classes in the ClearSCADA Guide to the DNP3 Driver.

SCADAPack E outstations can generate events for various point activities—for more information, see the relevant sections within the following:
