How ClearSCADA Stores Profile Data Historically

You use the Historic check box within the Profiles section of each DNP3 SCADAPack Point Form to specify whether ClearSCADA is to store profile data historically.

When the Historic check box is selected, ClearSCADA will store historically the data for any enabled Daily (DNP3 SCADAPack) profiles, or configured Standard profiles (depending on the type of Profile used by the point).

As Profiles have a one-minute resolution, ClearSCADA will store the value of each profile historically, once per minute, providing that:

The data that ClearSCADA stores historically comprises the profile data that is configured in the ClearSCADA database. Whenever a profile’s configuration is changed in ClearSCADA, those changes have to be downloaded to the outstation in order for that outstation to use the new profile data. With historically stored profile data, the stored data will differ from the actual profile used by the outstation for the period between any configuration changes being saved in ClearSCADA and those changes being downloaded to the outstation.
