Each SCADAPack E outstation’s internal clock can be set by ClearSCADA (see Outstation Clock in the ClearSCADA Guide to the DNP3 Driver), or by the Network Time Protocol (NTP) Service. (If the latter is used, ClearSCADA should not be configured to set the clock on those outstations.) Regardless of which application sets the outstation’s clock, ensure that the Channel’s Time Zone property indicates the time zone that the outstation uses (see Defining General Channel Communication Settings in the ClearSCADA Guide to Advanced Drivers).
Most SCADAPack functions, including DNP3 event time stamps, use the same time zone as the outstation’s clock. On outstations on which NTP is used to set the clock, the clock runs in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). On outstations on which ClearSCADA sets the clock, the clock can run in either UTC or Local Time as required.
SCADAPack Profiler tasks and some ISaGRAF functions can be configured to use a different time zone to that used by the outstation’s internal clock. Use the Time Zone field on each SCADAPack E outstation’s SCADAPack tab to Configure the Profiler and ISaGRAF Time Zone Properties.
