ICMP Specific Alarm and Event Categories
Each alarm and event on a ClearSCADA system has a Category that indicates the type of alarm or event. The Category is included by default in the Events List and, if applicable, the Alarms List and the Alarm Banner.
You can optionally filter the entries in either List by category—the entries from which you can choose comprise various ‘core’ categories, along with any categories that are specific to the drivers that are installed on your system.
On systems on which the ICMP driver is installed, in addition to the ‘core’ alarm and event categories, this ICMP specific category is available:
- ICMP Configuration Error—Entries associated with ICMP point configuration that contains an invalid IP address or node name. The ICMP driver generates such entries whenever it receives invalid configuration messages from the device(s) that it is polling.
Each ICMP point has an ICMP Config Alarm status attribute that indicates whether an ICMP Configuration Error was reported when the driver last attempted to retrieve the point’s data. You can ascertain the status of this attribute by viewing an ICMP point’s Status display (see ICMP Specific Status Display Attributes).
