A Controlling Station is the SCADA master station at which telecontrol of the Controlled Station (outstations) is performed. On a ClearSCADA system that is running the IEC 60870-5 driver, the ClearSCADA server is the controlling station.
Throughout this guide, the controlling station is referred to as the ClearSCADA server.
