Minimum Configuration
For an IEC 60870-5 Direct Outstation to become functional (online), you need to configure these properties:
- Specify the Outstation Set (Outstation tab)
- Specify the outstation’s Common Address (IEC 60870-5 tab)
- Specify the outstation’s Link Address (IEC 60870-5 tab)
- For each outstation that communicates using the IEC 60870-5-104 protocol, or is network-connected to ClearSCADA, you need to specify the Host Address(es) and Port(s) on the Network tab.
(Port number 2404 is the TCP port that is registered for IEC 60870-5-104 use with the IANA (Internet Assigned Numbers Authority).)
These are the minimum requirements for configuring a functional IEC 60870-5 direct outstation.
For an IEC 60870-5 Shared Outstation to become functional (online) you need to configure the above properties, plus the properties on the Shared tab.
For an IEC 60870-5 Logical Outstation to become functional (online), you need to configure these properties:
- Specify the Outstation Set (Outstation tab)
- Specify the Logical outstation’s Parent outstation (Remote tab)
- Specify the outstation’s Common Address (IEC 60870-5 tab).
These are the minimum requirements for configuring a functional IEC 60870-5 logical outstation.
With either type of outstation, you also need to put the outstation In Service and save the configuration. This will result in a functional IEC 60870-5 outstation that uses the default configuration settings.
