Throughout this guide, the term ‘outstation’ is used to refer to any outstation, controller, or other device using the KEMA defined IEC60870-5-101 extension, used to obtain data from measuring instruments or sensors.
Throughout the ClearSCADA documentation suite ‘information objects’—the objects that can be monitored or controlled on an outstation—are referred to as ‘points’.
