A Controlled Station is a station such as an outstation, a slave (such as ClearSCADA), or a Remote Terminal Unit (RTU) that is monitored and/or controlled by a Controlling Station.
On a ClearSCADA system that is running as an IEC 60870-5 slave, the ClearSCADA server is a controlled station.
Through the ClearSCADA documentation suite, a controlled station is referred to as an outstation.
