Configuring Analog Points
The Kingfisher driver supports Analog Input points and Analog Output points.
With the Kingfisher protocol, the preferred setup is for analog inputs to report state changes back to a Master outstation from a Remote outstation. With such a setup, use the standard Kingfisher Remote Outstation Change of State programming to report any state changes to the Master outstation.
Configure the properties of each analog point using the fields on the Kingfisher Analog Input Point Form, or the Kingfisher Analog Output Point Form, as appropriate.
This section covers configuration of properties on the Analog Point tab of both Kingfisher Analog Point Forms, and the properties on the Control tab of the Kingfisher Analog Output Point Form.
Use the Analog Point tab to:
- Configure Common Point Properties
- Configure Alarm Limits
- Configure Point Scaling
- Configure Format Properties (see Define the Appearance of an Analog Point’s Values in the ClearSCADA Guide to Core Point Configuration)
- Configure Override Properties (see Define whether an Analog Point can be Overridden in the ClearSCADA Guide to Core Point Configuration)
- Configure Significant Change Properties (see Define the Criteria for a Significant Change in Value in the ClearSCADA Guide to Core Point Configuration)
- Configure the No Change Properties (see Detect whether an Analog Point has Stopped Changing in the ClearSCADA Guide to Core Point Configuration)
- Configure Trend Properties (see Define an Analog Point’s Trend Settings in the ClearSCADA Guide to Core Point Configuration)
- Configure the Logged Data Properties (see Log Point Data on Kingfisher Outstations).
For Kingfisher Analog Output points, use the Control tab to:
- Configure the Control Properties (see Define the Control Settings for an Analog Output Point in the ClearSCADA Guide to Core Point Configuration)
- Specify whether any Outstations are given Scanning Priority whenever a Control Action is Issued (see Outstation Promotion in this guide, and see Promoting Scanning of Outstations Associated with Controls in the ClearSCADA Guide to Core Point Configuration)
- Specify Whether to Update an Output Point Value Immediately Following a Control.
For information on the fields on other tabs, see Tabs on Point Forms in the ClearSCADA Guide to Advanced Drivers.
