Configuring Kingfisher Server Settings
Some driver-specific settings need configuring on the server by a system administrator when a ClearSCADA system is first installed. These settings are configured using the ClearSCADA Server Configuration Tool. This section explains the Kingfisher driver-specific settings that need specifying using this tool.
For information on running the ClearSCADA Server Configuration Tool, see Configuring Advanced Driver Server Settings in the ClearSCADA Guide to Advanced Drivers.
NOTE: If you make configuration changes on a ClearSCADA server, you also need to make the same changes on any other ClearSCADA servers on your system. This is because the servers need to have matching configuration settings. The only exception to this rule is Permanent Standby servers - you only need to apply the changes to Permanent Standby servers if you have changed the PSTN Connection Types.
When the Kingfisher driver is first installed on a ClearSCADA system, a system administrator needs to:
- Specify the System ID.
- Specify the Communications Re-Establishment Delay.
- Specify Whether the Driver is to Communicate Directly Via a Specific RTU Address.
- Specify any additional PSTN Connection Types (see PSTN Connection Types in the ClearSCADA Guide to Advanced Drivers).
- Apply the changes to the server (see Configuring Advanced Driver Server Settings in the ClearSCADA Guide to Advanced Drivers).
- Either:
- If the server is currently running as the main server, restart the Kingfisher driver for the changes to take effect (see Start and Stop a Driver in the ClearSCADA Guide to Server Administration).
- If the server is not currently running as the main server, go to step 7.
- Repeat steps 1 to 6 for each of the servers on your system. (You only need to repeat the steps on any permanent standby servers if you make changes to the PSTN Connection Types.)
