The Kingfisher driver supports these types of Kingfisher outstation set:
- Kingfisher Direct Outstation Set—A set in which the outstations use a single direct channel to communicate with the server.
You need to configure one Kingfisher Direct Outstation Set for each group of Kingfisher outstations that communicate via a particular direct channel.
- Kingfisher Shared Outstation Set—A set in which each outstation can communicate with the server using either of two direct channels. Each outstation in the set can use either channel.
You need to configure one Kingfisher Shared Outstation Set for each group of Kingfisher outstations that communicate via, and share, a particular pair of direct channels. For an example of Shared Set usage, see Kingfisher Master Outstation using a Shared Outstation Set.
- Kingfisher Switched Outstation Set—A set in which outstations communicate with the server using one of two direct channels.
As there are two direct channels, one channel is used for communications and the other is a backup channel. ClearSCADA will switch the outstations from one channel to the other channel:
- If ClearSCADA detects that the channel being used by the outstations has failed
- If ClearSCADA detects that a specific number of outstations that use the channel have failed.
You need to configure one Kingfisher Switched Outstation Set for each group of Kingfisher outstations that communicate via, and can switch between, a particular pair of direct channels.
Kingfisher outstations support master station switching of channels on switched sets.
- Kingfisher PSTN Outstation Set—For outstations that connect to ClearSCADA via the telephone network, using an individual or shared dial-up modem.
You need to divide any PSTN outstations into groups and configure one Kingfisher PSTN Outstation Set per group (see Configuring an Outstation Set in the ClearSCADA Guide to Advanced Drivers).
Specify the features of each set using the fields on the appropriate Kingfisher Outstation Set Form.

Use the Kingfisher tab to:
- Specify the Master Station Address
- Specify Whether the Outstation Clocks Run at UTC or Local Time.
- Specify a Local System ID (Outstation Set)
