Scanning Direct Outstations on the Kingfisher Driver
The Kingfisher driver enables ClearSCADA to communicate with Kingfisher outstations either directly or remotely (see Configuring a Kingfisher Outstation).
This section summarizes aspects of outstation interrogation that are specific to the Kingfisher driver and that apply when ClearSCADA is configured to communicate with a Kingfisher outstation directly, using a permanent connection such as a cable, network, or a continuous radio signal. Use this section in conjunction with the advanced drivers scanning information (see Scanning Direct Outstations in the ClearSCADA Guide to Advanced Drivers).
(With Remote Kingfisher outstations (systems on which a Kingfisher Master outstation communicates with one or more Remote outstations), ClearSCADA retrieves the Master outstation’s copy of each Remote outstation’s data when it scans the Master outstation. If required, you can set up a Confidence Scan Interval to specify the interval with which the Kingfisher driver retrieves the Master outstation’s copy of the Remote outstation’s data, regardless of whether that data has changed (see Define the Remote Outstation Properties).)
Refer to the following sections for information on:
The process of retrieving data differs on those Kingfisher outstations for which ClearSCADA uses a dial-up modem and telephone line for communications (‘PSTN communications’). For information on scanning outstations with this type of connection, see Retrieving Data from PSTN Outstations in the ClearSCADA Guide to Advanced Drivers.
