With ClearSCADA’s Lufkin SAMS driver, you use:
- Generic Advanced Modbus Analog Input points to retrieve current analog data from a Lufkin SAMS controller (see Configuring Analog Points in the ClearSCADA Guide to the Advanced Modbus Driver).
- Lufkin SAMS Analog Input points to retrieve analog data that is stored historically on a Lufkin SAMS controller. (Lufkin SAMS points are designed to process only historic data.) ClearSCADA retrieves the historic data at the 'Historic Data Poll Interval' specified on the Lufkin SAMS outstation Form (see Define the Historic Data Poll Interval).
You configure the properties of each Lufkin SAMS Analog Input point using fields on the Lufkin SAMS Analog Input Point Form.

For Lufkin SAMS Analog Input points, use the Analog Point tab to:
- Configure the Common Point Properties
- Configure the Alarm Limits
- Configure any Alarm Limit Profiles (see Specify any Alarm Limit Profiles in the ClearSCADA Guide to Core Point Configuration)
- Configure the Point Scaling
- Specify the Point Formatting (see Define the Appearance of an Analog Point’s Values in the ClearSCADA Guide to Core Point Configuration)
- Specify the Override Properties (see Define whether an Analog Point can be Overridden in the ClearSCADA Guide to Core Point Configuration)
- Specify the Significant Change Properties (see Define the Criteria for a Significant Change in Value in the ClearSCADA Guide to Core Point Configuration)
- Configure the No Change Properties (see Detect whether an Analog Point has Stopped Changing in the ClearSCADA Guide to Core Point Configuration)
- Specify the Trend Properties (see Define an Analog Point’s Trend Settings in the ClearSCADA Guide to Core Point Configuration)
