Minimum Configuration

For a Lufkin SAMS controller to be capable of functioning, as a minimum you need to specify:

• The outstation set with which the controller is associated (Outstation tab)
• The controller address (Lufkin SAMS tab)
• The Dynacard Stores that are to store the rod pump data (Lufkin SAMS tab)
• The telephone number of the site on which a PSTN controller is located (PSTN tab)
• The Network properties for a network connected controller (Network tab)
• The Shared properties for a shared controller (Shared tab).

Also ensure that the controller and the database items on which it depends are In Service, and have saved, valid configuration. This will produce a Lufkin SAMS controller that is capable of functioning using the default configuration settings.
