For a Lufkin SAMS point to be capable of functioning, as a minimum you have to specify these features on the <Point Type> tab:
- The controller (outstation) on which the point is located
- The Value Type that the point represents
- The Value Index (if applicable)
- For analog points, the required Scaling
- For digital points, the condition that each point state represents.
If you want ClearSCADA to store the point data historically, you also have to:
- Enable and configure the properties on the Historic tab.
Also ensure that the point and the database items on which it depends are In Service, and have saved, valid configuration. This will produce a point that is capable of functioning using the default configuration settings.
