Preparation

To configure an ODBC Connection, you need to know the System Data Source Name (DSN) for the other system’s server, along with the user name and password that allows the required access to the data on that server. For further information, refer to your WindowsTM documentation.

You also need to establish which features are required for each ODBC connection. You can configure each connection to use a variety of features, including alarm redirection. However, many of these features are optional and do not affect the success of communications. The optional features include:

If the features listed above are not configured, they are not used for the selected connection (they will be left blank).
