Log on to the System via WebX
ATTENTION: This topic relates to the deprecated Original WebX client that is supported by this and previous versions of ClearSCADA. For information about the WebX client that is supported by ClearSCADA 2015 R1 onwards, click here.
When you first display the WebX interface, you are logged on as the Guest user and so have read-only access to your system. As with ViewX, access to your database via the web is dependent on the permissions that are allocated to your user account.
When using the WebX interface, you need to log on to the system before you can access the various features.
To log on to the system via the WebX interface:
- Select the Log On button on the WebX navigation bar to display the log on page.
- In the username field, enter:
EngExample
- In the Password field, enter the password for the 'EngExample' user account. (Your system administrator might provide you with a password, or you might be required to set a new password when you first attempt to log on as the 'EngExample' user.)
- Press the Log On button.
At this stage, you will either be logged on as the ‘EngExample’ user, or Internet Explorer (IE) will display a message regarding certificates. If IE shows a page titled ‘There is a problem with this website’s security certificate’, it means that you do not have a trusted certificate. You can select the Continue to this website (not recommended) option to proceed without a trusted certificate.
You are now logged on as the 'EngExample' user. You will see that the home page has changed. This is because the 'EngExample' user account is associated with a Mimic that acts as the home page. This Mimic is called 'Opening Page' and can also be accessed in ViewX. In the configuration of the 'EngExample' user account, the 'Opening Page' Mimic is selected as the Home Page.
If you look at the buttons at the top of the display, you will also see that extra buttons are available, including Documents and Favorites.
Now that you have logged on, you can use the WebX interface to operate your system. Proceed to Use the Navigation Tools to Access other Displays.
