Create a Pager Channel Database Item
Pager Channel database items are used to represent the physical connections between ClearSCADA and the pager or mobile telecommunications service provider. You need to create and configure at least one Pager Channel for each Pager Service.
To create a Pager Channel database item:
- Log on to ClearSCADA via a User account that has the Configure Database permission (see Allocating Security Permissions in the ClearSCADA Guide to Security).
- Display the Database Bar (see Display an Explorer Bar in the ClearSCADA Guide to ViewX and WebX Clients).
- Right-click on the System or Group that is to contain the new Pager Channel Database item.
A context sensitive menu is displayed. - Select Create New
- Select the Pager option.
A further menu is displayed. - Select the <Pager> Channel option you require from the further menu. Where <Pager> Channel is the option for the required type of Pager Channel, for example, PSTN Pager Channel.
A <Pager> Channel is added to the root of the System or to the selected Group (depending on your selection in step 1). It is selected automatically, ready for you to enter its name. - Define a suitable name for the Pager Channel (see Naming Restrictions in the ClearSCADA Guide to Core Configuration), then press the Enter key or select another part of the interface to confirm.
Once you have created a new Pager Channel database item, you will need to use its configuration Form to define its properties (see Display the Pager Channel Form).
