Understanding the Pager Driver
The Pager Driver allows ClearSCADA to send messages to pagers and mobile phones. This is useful as it means information such as alarm messages can be sent to remote users. For example, an alarm message could be sent to the pager of an engineer who is traveling between sites.
The Pager Driver works by allowing ClearSCADA to send messages using the following protocols:
- TAP - Telocator Alphanumeric input Protocol
- Multitone
- UCP - Universal Computer Protocol
- SMS - Short Message Service.
These protocols are the standard protocols used for pager and mobile telephone communications.
For information on how to configure your ClearSCADA system to use the Pager Driver, see Configuring Pager Devices in ClearSCADA.
