Adjust Clock
Associated with: A SCADAPack 50 Outstation database item that represents a device and can communicate with the device.
Security permission required to access this pick action: Diagnostics.
Use this pick action to apply a relative time adjustment to the current time setting on the device. The time is in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) (see Coordinated Universal Time in the ClearSCADA Guide to Core Configuration). The default entry is 1 second. Enter the required interval in the OPC Time Format. You can enter the value directly in the field, or use the Interval window (accessed via the field's browse button) to specify the required value.
Select the Adjust Clock pick action to display the Adjust Clock window.
- Current Time Adjustment Value Seconds—Enter the number of seconds by which you want to adjust the clock. You can enter either a negative or a positive value.
Select the OK button to accept the time adjustment.
Example:
If you enter 30 in the Current Time Adjustment Value Seconds field, you will move the device's clock forward by 30 seconds.
If you enter -30 in the Current Time Adjustment Value Seconds field, you will move the device's clock back by 30 seconds.
NOTE: You cannot adjust the clock by sending an actual time to the device. This is because the arrival time of an SMS message is not certain - it depends on the GSM network.
NOTE: If you are using this pick action with the Automation Interface, you need to specify the method name AdjustCurrentTime.
