Check the Channel Status

If ClearSCADA has not received the SMS message that you sent from a cell phone (see Send an SMS Test Message from a Cell Phone to ClearSCADA), you should check the status of the channel and its associated GSM modem.

  1. In the Database Bar, select the SCADAPack 50 Test.Channel database item.

    A context-sensitive menu is displayed.

  2. Select the View Status menu option.

    The Status window is displayed.

Look at the following status attribute:

State—This should be Healthy. If it is, then this particular check has revealed no anomalies.

If this status attribute is not Healthy, then check to see if ClearSCADA has raised an alarm for the channel (see Alarms Lists in the ClearSCADA Guide to Alarms). The alarm Message may indicate an anomaly. For example, the SIM card is not properly installed in the ClearSCADA GSM modem. Otherwise, refer to the ClearSCADA communications troubleshooting information (see Troubleshooting in the ClearSCADA Guide to Advanced Drivers).
