Device Point - Number of Unconfirmed Changes

Associated with: SCADAPack 50 Points and SCADAPack 50 Outstations.

For ClearSCADA points, this status attribute shows the number of unconfirmed configuration changes to the device point. If the ClearSCADA point is mapped to a device point, then the attribute also shows the name of the device point to which the ClearSCADA point is mapped (V1-V8), as shown in the illustration below:

For outstations, the Status display shows this information for every device point (V1-V8) that is mapped to a ClearSCADA point, as shown in the illustration below:

When you make configuration changes to a SCADAPack 50 device point in ClearSCADA, the changes become proposed changes. You can select either the Preset Configuration pick action or the Download Configuration pick action to process the changes.

When you select the Preset Configuration pick action, ClearSCADA only processes the configuration changes locally, in the ClearSCADA database. It does not send the changes to the device. ClearSCADA will also confirm the configuration changes immediately.

When you select an appropriate Download Configuration pick action option, ClearSCADA sends the configuration changes to the device in one or more SMS message requests. When the device receives the messages, it processes the changes and sends confirmation SMS messages back to ClearSCADA (this process does not necessarily take place immediately; this is because the GSM network may be busy or the device may be in Sleep mode). When ClearSCADA receives the confirmation messages back from the device, the configuration changes become confirmed changes. Until ClearSCADA receives the confirmation messages back from the device, the configuration changes are unconfirmed changes and remain proposed changes.

NOTE: The device separately processes the changes in each individual SMS message. It does not process all of the changes in a set of SMS messages in one go.
