Specify Whether ClearSCADA is to Check that each Flow Computer ID is Unique

You can use the ClearSCADA Server Configuration Tool to specify whether the server is to check that the Flow Computer ID on each RealFLO controller is unique across the system.

To set the validation check, you need to use the RealFLO section in the Global Parameters branch of the ClearSCADA Server Configuration Tool.

To set validation check:

  1. Access the ClearSCADA Server Configuration Tool, (see Accessing the ClearSCADA Server Configuration Tool).
  2. Expand the Global Parameters branch.
  3. Select RealFLO.

  4. Select the Validate flow computer ID is unique across the system check box for ClearSCADA to verify whether each Flow Computer ID is unique.

When ClearSCADA first communicates with a Flow Computer, it reads the data from that Flow Computer and stores it in the ClearSCADA database. Once stored, ClearSCADA re-validates the data to verify that the Flow Computer ID is unique. If the ID is not unique, the configuration of the RealFLO controllers that have the same Flow Computer ID becomes invalid. As with any invalid configuration, this is indicated in the Database Bar by the controllers’ icons each displaying a red cross. Similarly, should you display such a controller’s configuration Form, it will contain an invalid configuration message in the message area at the bottom of the Form (see Mandatory Configuration and Invalid Configuration Messages in the ClearSCADA Guide to Core Configuration).

Clear the Validate flow computer ID is unique across the system check box if ClearSCADA is not to determine whether each Flow Computer’s ID is unique across the system.
