Save a Mimic Script
Mimic scripts can be stored in Mimics or Script Libraries. When a Mimic script is saved, you can access a range of debugging facilities for checking the validity of your script.
To store a script in a Mimic, you have to:
- Enable the Scripting feature for the individual Mimic (see Enable the Scripting Feature on a Mimic)
- Create the script.
- Save the script. You save script in the same way as other configuration changes in ClearSCADA (see Saving Configuration Changes in the ClearSCADA Guide to Core Configuration).
If a syntax error is detected when you save the script, the document window will enter Diagnostic Mode (see Diagnostic Mode in the ClearSCADA Guide to Core Configuration). If this occurs, you can choose to Continue editing the script, or to Save anyway.
NOTE: It is recommended that you attempt to fix any syntax errors before you save a script, as this will interfere with the operation of the Mimic.
When you save a Mimic script, the associated Mimic is also saved.
You can use Script Libraries to store scripts that are available for use on many Mimics—the Mimic scripts can reference the Script Libraries so that you don't need to type in the same script repeatedly. For more information, see Script Libraries.
