Built-In User Groups

ClearSCADA has a single built-in User Group named 'Everyone'. Every user account that is created is automatically associated with the 'Everyone' User Group.

The 'Everyone' User Group should be configured with the minimum of permissions, Read, Browse and View Alarms as the permissions that are allocated to the ‘Everyone’ User Group are also available to every user account on the system. For example, if you access the Security window for a point and set the Everyone User Group to have the Tune Limits permission, it means that every user will be able to tune the limits of the point.

To allow your system users greater access to items and features, you should create ‘configured’ User Groups and user accounts. You can then apply the required permissions to groups of users or individual user accounts as required.

As all configured User accounts are automatically associated the Everyone User Group, the incorrect use of the User Group can compromise the security of the system. You should only allocate the minimum of permissions if this User Group is added to the Security Windows.

Failure to follow these instructions can result in equipment damage.
