Super User Account

The Super user account is a special user account that has access to all ClearSCADA objects and features. You need to Create a Super User account during the installation of ClearSCADA to allow you to log on to the server. The Super user account is designed to be used only on a ClearSCADA server. You use this account to define the security on your system and configure one or more Server Administrator accounts.

When you have completed the configuration of the Server Administrators accounts you should continue to use these accounts to configure the database. The Super User should only be used when the security features have been configured incorrectly. For example, if your system is incorrectly configured to stop users from having access to the security features, when there is no way any user can log on and make security changes, even the user that incorrectly configured the security settings. The Super User account can be used to access all features and used to correct poorly configured security settings.

The Super User account is automatically logged out if the system remains idle for more than 5 minutes.

NOTE: The Super User can only be used to log on to a server on a system. You cannot use the Super User account to log on from a client.

NOTICE

SECURITY THREAT

As the Super User account has no restrictions and access to every part of the system, any unauthorized use of the account can compromise the security of the system. You should only allow authorized personnel access to the Super User’s user name and password.
Failure to follow these instructions can result in injury or equipment damage.
