ViewX Specific Security Features
Individual user accounts can be denied access to certain features of ViewX. You can use ViewX tab's settings on the User Form to:
- Define the General Settings for a User in ViewX
- Define the General Settings that Apply to ViewX and WebX
- Define which Operational Features are Available to a User in ViewX
- Define the ViewX Configuration Settings for a User
- Define which Alarm Banner and Alarms List Features are Available to a User in ViewX
- Define the Default Alarm Filter Settings for a User
- Define which Explorer Bars a User can Access in ViewX.
By using the User Form, you can restrict access to certain features in ViewX irrespective of the other security settings. For example, if you configure a user's user account to have the Configure Database option clear (disabled), that user will not have access to any Forms, even if the security settings for individual items provide the Configure permission. If a feature is disabled for a user via their User Form, they cannot access that feature in ViewX.
