Alarm Limit Settings when a Point is Moved
When multiple alarm limit settings are enabled, by default each point in the database uses the set of alarm limits that apply to the Group in which the point is located. As such, if a point is moved from one Group to another, the move might result in the point using a different set of alarm limits (the one that applies to the Group into which the point has been moved). The actual alarm limit values remain unchanged (the values remain those that are specified on the point's configuration Form, or to which the values are tuned).
Example:
A Group named 'Northern Region' contains a point named 'Heat Sensor AI'. The points in the 'Northern Region' Group use 'Normal Weather' alarm limits.
A Group named 'Southern Region' contains points that use 'Bad Weather' alarm limits.
The 'Heat Sensor AI' point is moved from the 'Northern Region' Group into the 'Southern Region' Group. The 'Heat Sensor AI' point will be set to use the 'Bad Weather' alarm limits (depending on the model of outstation, this may not take effect until the outstation's configuration is downloaded).
Point in 'Northern Region' Group uses 'Normal Weather' alarm limits.
Point uses 'Bad Weather' alarm limits when it is moved into the 'Southern Region' Group.
